Have you been a techie? Love gadgets? Computer expert? Like hacking and tweaking software and hardware? You are a geek. Believe it or not, you're that just about me. Okay now, let's not fight in the definition of a geek.

Here's a list of software (all free) for geeks, based on me. You can download programas gratis each by clicking its name:

Firefox/Chrome: Our prime dogs in the browser world are not only seen recommended for everyone, but additionally these are a geek's playground. If you utilize Internet Explorer and you consider yourself tech-savvy, you better think again, then you better think again, and think until you have got one of these brilliant browsers installed.

Notepad++: It's another should have tool to get a geek. The Notepad incorporated into Windows is fine. It's simple, full-featured for web site design possesses everything a standard person needs. But you're a geek. You should have Notepad++. They have color coding assistance when you find yourself web designing, it's more features and whatever you can think about. Ok, and it's open-source.

Dropbox: Wow, the perfect file synchronizing tool. It is the ultimate choice (particularly for geeks, again) for sync and backup. It isn't really completely free, but there are hardly any limitations. The free account receives a decent 2 GB of online storage, which you'll expand with a fee, however i never felt an excuse for it. You can even experience an extra 250 MB for completing the tutorial, and much more free space with the instructions here. Dropbox is magical. It is possible to upload any sort of file, regardless of what size (unless it exceeds the size on the account), and best of most, it behaves like any other folder in your computers, with the added functionality on constantly synchronizing.

7-Zip: WinZip is indeed traditional. It even isn't free. 7-Zip is little, light, and open-source, so that it is free. Windows has a fine file extractor. However it cannot extract the newer, better compressed file types. 7-Zip expands the proportions by integrating using your OS also it can extract almost all sorts of compressed files. Oahu is the ultimate compression utility.

Torrent: Hey, seriously, torrents are certainly not illegal. All this is dependent upon that which you are downloading. Torrents can be quite useful for downloading large software libre, so if you're a geek, you should know torrents. Torrent is the better torrent app around. You'll want it. You might need it when downloading large open-source stuff, like OpenOffice, or large versions of Linux (see, I mention only free software application here).

TeamViewer: Just how can a geek live without this? TeamViewer, in case you have never heard about it, is really a remote access and remote support software. Countless uses for flash to thrill friends, and/or help them to if they are in danger and want several of your geeky expertise. It's free for commercial use, and there aren't limitations. When you have TeamViewer, you can easily tell anybody conversely to download a smaller version (or the full featured one) and you'll be able to use their automatically generated user ID and password to sign in to their computer to see the problem. I, personally, have not tried on the extender for remote entry to my computer.

GIMP: The free open-source GNU Image Manipulating Program. This is arguably the best free photo editing tool and is (much more) arguably an excellent Photoshop alternative. Okay, Photoshop fans descargar programas gratis, don't clobber me to the. The sole catch is (no, it's free, and full-featured) it provides a slight learning curve. Many times Paint.NET better if you aren't a great deal into photo editing (that i on a regular of times).

CCleaner: The geek's choice in computer clean-up utilities. It may clean up every one of the gunk Disk Cleanup cleans, plus much of the stuff other apps avoid. It can also clean the registry and work from the usb drive without problems, for use on others' computers.

So, these folks were ab muscles basic freeware a geek must have in his/her arsenal for everyday computing. Did I miss something important? Throw it in the comments, and i also will add it into the list.
