Need to use part about an picture but never destroy the rest? Photoshop clipping paths designate clear locations in images. A clipping way can isolate portion about an image; the rest of the image remains clear whilst the image remains placed in a page layout. A frequent instance remains to generate a clipping trail about some foreground object to exclude or mask out the background.

Directions

1 Define an area about the image to be the clipping path by drawing a way around the area. Use the marquee, lasso, pen or pencil tool from the Photoshop tool bar. The trail will remain visible.

2 Select "Window" away from the menu bar and click "Paths." This will wide open the "Paths" palette. Click the pull-away menu on the higher right also select "Make Work Path." Select the appropriate tolerance; greater tolerance numbers imply further detail, reduce numbers less detail. Click "Ok." The Path pull-out menu will be displayed. Click "Save Path," type a name for the path on the dialog box also click "Ok." PS Vita Hacks.

3 Show the Path pull-out menu again. Pick out "Clipping Path," and set the choices. For "Path," pick the path to be saved. If the "Flatness" value is left blank, Photoshop will use some default value. A low flatness value means the greater the number of right lines employed to bring the curve and therefore the further definite the curve. Flatness values range from 0.2 to 100. For small resolution printing, a flatness environment regarding single to three is recommended; for huge resolution printing, use a value between eight and 10. Click "Ok."

4 Change the file to the correct color form if necessary. Use CMYK color mode if the file will be printed using process colors.

5 Choose the correct file format. With printing to any Postscript printer, save seeing that file format EPS, DCS or PDF. Save the file like any Tiff for non-Postscript printing. Select "Save As" under the "File" menu on the menu bar. The "Save As" dialog box will look. Choose the suitable format in the "Save As" field and type any name with the "File Identify" area. Navigate to the location where the file is to reside. Click "Save."

If importing a DSC or EPS file that is has some Tiff preview to Illustrator, the on screen preview about the image's clipping path transparency may display incorrectly. It does not affect the Sequel printing. If experiencing printing errors, change the flatness value to determine how the postscript interpreter approximates the curve.
