The Rogers Edge network is the iPhone's copy network used when the 3G network remains unavailable. Although slower than 3G, the Edge network yous reliable plus has a larger coverage area. However, whenever you're roaming, the Edge network can cost you some good deal of cash--such being whilst you are overseas. Using some SIM PIN forces your iPhone to question for your PIN before hers sends or obtains information. This allows you to obstruct and disable the Edge network.

1 Turn on your iPhone

2 Touch the "Settings" application found on your residence screen.

4 Scroll down and choose the "SIM PIN" option at the bottom about the "Phone" menu screen.

5 Switch "SIM PIN" on by touching the "Off" or "On" key. Since it is currently not enabled touching either choice will turn "SIM PIN" on.

6 Enter the default password "1111."

7 Turn your phone off also therefore on once again following a minute of sleep. Enabling "SIM PIN" will disable the Edge network unless you choose to enable it through entering in your "SIM PIN" number.
