Whilst iPhone are certainly the coolest and most popular mobile phones currently on the market, if you don have one, then don despair. You can pick up great alternatives to the iPhone. There a multitude of Smartphones to choose from that are either much more affordable, or have better features.
The latest iPhone to hit the market is the iPhone 4S, and at ?99 it not the cheapest phone in the world. That not even the cheapest model either, because if you wanted to upgrade to a 32Gb or a 64Gb version, you would end up paying ?99 or ?99 respectively. So what are the alternatives?
Android Phones
The best alternative to Apple phones are those using the Android operating system. What is particularly good about Android phones is that a number of different phone manufacturers use them as their sole operating system. Samsung and HTC are two of the main manufacturers. This means as a consumer, you have a larger number of phones from which to choose.
The best Android phone to choose could either be the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the HTC Desire HD. Both companies boast a plethora of different phones, but these two are certainly the best performing phones for varying reasons. The Galaxy S2 is quick with its 1.2GH dual-core processor, meaning that you can run multiple apps simultaneously without the processor slowing down. It also boasts a large screen at 4.3 inches, allowing more room for web browsing.
The HTC Desire HD has the exact same size screen, but it covers the entire front of the phone, and it in HD, making it perfect for viewing films, clips and playing games. This phone boasts an 8 megapixel camera, and also records HD footage at 720p resolution. With deals as cheap as ?8 per month, it certainly a more affordable option than the iPhone.
Windows Phones
An alternative to the Android operating system is the Windows Phones operating system. This is a bit more sophisticated, as your phone is compatible with your Windows Office, as well as Xbox Live. This makes it a great for those who need access to e-mails and work when they are out of the office, as well as those who want to carry on with their gaming when theye out of the house.
One of the best Window phones to get is the Nokia Lumia 800. This sleek, thin and ultra modern phone sports the new Mango update of the Window operating system. It made of polycarbonate, making it look and feel superior. The functionality is superb, and you can run several programmes or apps if you need to multitask, or gain access to Twitter, thanks to the Mango update.
BlackBerry Phones
Blackberry became incredibly popular during iPhone rise. Despite a recent setback, they are still favoured amongst their loyal customers,retail security, and with the BlackBerry Bold 9900, you can see why. BlackBerry phones are very distinctive in style, and the Bold 9900 epitomises this. One of the main benefits is the real keyboard, as opposed to touch screen ones found on the abovementioned phones.

So there you go; three different operating systems and a deluge of different phones to choose from on each system. Whilst iPhone are certainly the most favoured on the market, and with good reason, there are alternative options, should you prefer to look elsewhere.
